You must be a CCQHA member to consign a horse to this sale.  See the membership page for membership information.

All consignments will go through a selection process for the CCQHA sale.  If your consignment is not selected, you will receive a full refund of your consignment fee.

The CCQHA Sale Committee acts as the selection committee.  Selected horses are still subject to a pre-sale screening.  If a horse is screened out for some reason, consignor forfeits his/her consignment fee.

What makes our sale different from the rest?

Many of the fall sales feature popular bloodlines, quality horses, and promises of horses filled with talent.  What features set our sale apart from the others?

1. For the most part, our horses are raised in natural environments by owners who are concerned about nutrition, health, genetics, and disposition.  They are also "selected" for the sale by fellow breeders who want only to have a reputable sale.

2. Even after being "selected" for the CCQHA sale, horses are subject to a pre-sale screening by Dr. John Wilson of Sheridan, WY and a committee of knowledgeable horse persons.  Horses may be screened out of the sale for genetic defects, unsoundnesses, undesirable attributes or dispositions, etc.  We are not guaranteeing there is NO defect in these horses, but we are making every effort to be sure that the product that is sold through the CCQHA sale is quality.  Dr. Wilson conducts a thorough, hands on examination on each horse.  They are both beneficial and educational for buyer and seller.

3. Horses sold through the CCQHA sale are eligible to come back and compete for cash and/or prizes in the CCQHA Futurity.  This event is open only to horses purchased from the CCQHA sale with competitions consisting of a yearling longe line event, two year old performance event that combines a score from western pleasure and reining, and a three year old performance that combines a score from western pleasure and reining.

There is a guaranteed payout structure as follows:

1st - $600, 2nd - $450, 3rd - $325, 4th - $200, 5th - $100

Additionally, many of the horses consigned to the CCQHA sale are produced by stallions or mares nominated for the Breeder's Futurity.  These horses can be shown in both the CCQHA Futurity and the Breeder's Futurity increasing the amount of potential winnings.  The Breeder's Futurity pays out based on the nominated stallion fees and entries.  The 2005 and 2006 winners received over $600.
